This training was an amazing experience. We came in with an unruly dog that pulled and was aggressive towards other dogs and are leaving with a dog that can make it in public and is on the way to a new lease on life. Bridget has helped us by teaching us how to work with our pup to build his confidence and feelings of security. In just a few short weeks our dog has transformed. Thank you Bridget and Tommy!
Just finish day 7 of Lily’s training and couldn’t be more amazed with her progress. Not only is Lily learning so much but I am too. The Positive reinforcement is exactly what Lily needs to become the best pup ever. I would highly recommend Pawsome Pups and Bridget!!
We have a shy and somewhat anxious Bernedoodle puppy, and Bridget has done an excellent job working through the anxiety to train our puppy and us! She is very insightful and knowledgeable regarding canine behavior and training techniques, and we would highly recommend her to anyone.
Skilled, calm, and honest, are three adjectives that immediately came to mind after our initial consultation with Bridget. Her rewards based training philosophy was clearly on display as she calmly worked with our dog to evaluate her obedience skills and disposition. Using treats, a clicker, and voice commands, Bridget was immediately able to elicit and shape the behavior she was seeking from our dog without ever using punishment or harsh corrections. Her honest evaluation of our dog’s disposition led us for now, in a different direction but I would highly recommend Bridget if you are looking for an expert dog trainer – you won’t be disappointed!
I’d like to thank Bridget for her training with Mia and me. Mia has learned so much in just one week. Enjoying this bonding time. Pawsome Pups Dog Training was a great find. Really enjoying our new pup … wonderful way to bond. Mia is great – can’t believe how quickly she is picking things up … mom on the other hand needs more training Thank you Bridget …this was an awesome experience. I’m enjoying the time I spend with Mia. Who knows what’s next. I highly recommend Pawsome Pups Dog Training!
…. Our Lab pup and I went for a week of “basic training”. Bridget was great. We may go back for more advanced training later on.
Bridget is amazing! I recently became a first time dog mom to a golden doodle puppy named stitch and I didn’t know where to begin with training. After just 3 classes with Bridget, stitch is a totally different dog. She has taught me how to communicate with him effectively so that he listens and does what I say. Bridget is so knowledgeable about positive rewards training. Stitch and I are so much happier!
We worked with Bridget 4 years ago to have our dog complete a CGC with several training classes and work on dog reactivity and his prey drive. Unfortunately our dog was involved in a dog fight recently and animal control was called. I reached out to Bridget for advice and was pleasantly surprised that she remembered us. She gave me advice over the phone on how to navigate the situation and how to prevent it from happening again. She even gave us recommendations on other Behavior specialists to follow up with. I so apppreciated her taking the time out of her Saturday morning to help out an old client!! 10/10 professional and amazing dog trainer! We llove Bridget!
We’re 5 sessions into training with our 4 month old female Doberman and let me tell you, there’s a huge difference in her behavior already. Bridget is truly our training fairy godmother. She works with both the owners and dog to make sure we fully understand how to train and to do it properly. I don’t know what we’d do without her. Worth every penny!!!!
Positive: Professionalism, Quality, Reliability, Responsiveness We were referred to Pawsome Pups Dog Training by our Behavioralist Veterinarian and we couldn’t be happier. My dog Bailey has anxiety and PTSD. We’ve worked a bit with other trainers as well, but she hadn’t been making much progress. We started working with Bridget and saw immediate improvements with her behavior and listening. Each session Bailey starts off nervous and by the end she is relaxed and loving all over Bridget. My other dog Charlie just started training and this is his first professional training he’s improving and connecting but is also nervous. Bridget has improved our human training and understanding of our dogs each time as well. We look forward to the progress that we all make each time.
Positive: Professionalism, Quality Bridgit is super. Watching her work with my 12 week old puppy has taught me so much. He is learning quickly – I am taking a little longer. Bridget is patient with both of us. I will finish my puppy course with lots of techniques to practice with Rusty. I will definitely consider the “Manners” class when he gets a little older.
Miss Bridget is taking our sweet and ferocious puppy and turning him into a wonderful gentleman of a dog. She knows his breeds needs, trained this mama to be less of a helicopter parent to her fur baby, and is working on giving our Snoopy confidence and a repertoire of commands he’ll use forever. And the amazing thing is she’s doing it all harmlessly with positive reinforcements; no shock or choke collar for these lil pups! The facility is massive and leaves room for so much growth and even more learning and training. Blessed and grateful to have found Pawsome Pups.
Positive: Professionalism, Quality, Reliability, Responsiveness, Value We just adopted a young Great Pyrenees dog with a gruesome history. At a year and a half he has had no socialization or training. As he is a large breed known for their stubbornness, and having owned 5 of these dogs previously we understand the need for training, even though he basically seems a very sweet dog. Because of his horrible start (left to starve in a field where his sibling and some goats were found dead) we wanted to work with someone who emphasized positive reinforcement. Bridget has fit the bill perfectly with a calm, encouraging, but firm touch. She has gained his trust and, just as important, communicates well to us what we need to do. We look forward to having a happy, well-balanced dog at the end of the leash! Thank you, Bridget!
We are over halfway through Puppy Kindergarten with our intelligent/cautious/stubborn “Golden Huskador” and we have nothing but great things to say about Bridget and her methods. My husband was struggling with the leash with him (he’s only 10 weeks old mind you) and 1 session with Bridget completely changed their relationship. He’s now looking to my husband for their next move and they can have pleasant interactions. My husband’s confidence with him is now very obvious. In addition to some leash work, she was able to very quickly get Doug to sit, down, leave it, settle, off, up, let’s go, wait and watch. And we aren’t even done with the sessions yet. The best part is, she teaches positive reinforcement so no prong collars or shock methods. Just lots of treats (in our case kibble) and praise. And it works, even for our stubborn husky mutt. Can’t wait to bring him back for Elementary Manners when he’s older too. Highly recommend.
We took our 12 week old English Bulldog puppy to Bridget for training and were amazed the progress our puppy had made on the first visit. The private lessons taught our little girl (and ourselves) so much! Not only verbal commands, but also sign and body language commands. After finishing all of her training she was able to pick out a toy which she loves. We would ABSOLUTELY recommend her to train your pup! You will be so happy that you did. 🐶👍🏻
I took our dog Frankie to Bridget after he started showing his teeth and snapping at me and my husband. Bridget assessed Frankie and provided us a greater understanding of the meaning of his behavior and our participation in it. She provided us with tools for our continued work with Frank and his presenting problem, along with overall training in becoming clearer communicators with Frank. I was despairing prior to our first session, and now I feel hopeful that we can have fun and live peacefully with Frankie again. Bridget is clearly an expert and passionate about her work.
My 6 month old pup, Balto, and I took private lessons with Bridget. Well worth the time and effort. For me a lot of it was a “train the trainer” scenario since I had no idea what I was doing. Balto and I learned how to work together via much improved communication, both verbal and nonverbal. Highly Recommend!
Positive: Professionalism, Quality, Reliability, Responsiveness, Value Bridget Taber is an excellent trainer. She was patient with my stubborn hound dog, and helped us so much! My dog is reactive to loud noises, and loses her mind when she is scared. She also gets triggered by other dogs when she is on leash with me. By the end of 10 lessons, my pup could walk in busy Hillsboro, including past two yappy pups back and forth without reacting. For people who are owed by dogs with behavior problems, you cannot go wrong training with Bridget. She was recommended to me by my Veterinary Behaviorist as well.
Positive: Professionalism, Quality, Reliability, Responsiveness Bridget has been truly amazing to work with! I rescued a puppy that was extremely fearful of people as well as life outside of my property. It was recommended that I purchase the 10 day private session package and I am so glad I did. We are currently on day 5 and Norman already knows how to sit, lay down, settle, leave it, touch, watch, wait, and loose leash walk! He understands all of these commands given three different ways (sign language, body language, and verbal commands). He also understands up, off, and through. Bridget is so knowledgeable, and is the perfect blend of gentle and assertive. When she introduces a new command, Norman learns it within a few minutes! I work closely with horses in a similar capacity, and I have been amazed at the pace and ease at which we move through each session. Norman has also already shown progress in his interactions with people and other dogs since last week! The second half of our sessions will be more focused on socialization; he will be working with Thomas (Bridget’s service dog) around town! If you are looking for positive, kind, and effective training for your dog, I would highly recommend contacting Bridget!
My 8 month old puppy Luke a.k.a. High Energy Boy had five sessions with Bridget after his initial consult and training. She worked wonders with him. I was a little skeptical at first watching her trying over and over to get him to do the simplest of commands “down”. She got it done and explained that because of his conformation it was a challenge for him. Same issue with “settle” but again she worked her positive energy and consistency and he did it. I was more impressed after each session. The mental work he had to do for her exhausted him and because of this I will continue to challenge him mentally. It’s nice to start to have a somewhat calm dog after eight months. One of the tools used on him was her peanut butter stick to walk with and use the “wait”, “up”, “down” commands. He responds very well to this and it’s easy to use. I highly recommend Bridget to anyone. I feel more confident today and so should you.
Working with Bridget at Pawsome Training has delivered amazing results for my 8-month-old German Shepherd and me. Bridget’s knowledge of handling a dog in high-intensity situations and her ability to educate and train me on that was phenomenal! It has been an enormous help as well as a relief to have the tools she equipped me with in my back pocket. Bridget is professional, highly educated, and extremely gifted at what she does. I highly recommend Pawsome Training to anyone with a dog!
Positive: Professionalism, Quality, Reliability, Responsiveness, Value Bridget is a godsend! Of all the dog trainers my husband and I spoke with, she is by far the most knowledgable, passionate and credentialed. We saw immediate improvements in our 10mo old Bernese Mountain dog’s behavior after using Bridget’s techniques. She was an active listener who painstakingly learned our habits and mistakes, so to better understand us as dog owners. Bridget tailored her positive reinforcement training around our personalities to maximize effective evolution of our habits. We couldn’t be happier with how our bond with our dog, Bosco, has improved and how much more confident we feel as dog owners.
Finnley’s six sessions with Bridget exceeded our expectations! At 3 months of age, he was a bit timid, but by the time we finished the first session, he was responding to everything Bridget was teaching him and us. Bridget has a true gift and a way with dogs that enables them to trust her, relax and enjoy learning. We could not be happier with the results and feel very at ease with the instructions she provided as we continue to work with him. We look forward to a continued relationship with Bridget as Finnley gets a little older and we go back for some additional training. We highly recommend Pawsome Pups Dog Training.
Bridget, These past 10 days have been nothing less than eye opening, challenging, and disruptive to our mindset; however, we have no doubt these days will prove to be the most fruitful for our future with Bosco, our only regret is that we didn’t find you sooner! Thank you for your unending patience, expertise and time! Sincerely, Tom, Mackenzie & Bosco
Positive: Professionalism, Quality, Reliability, Responsiveness, Value I just rescued a puppy from SSR and my older dog was very reactive. She would growl, bark and snap anytime the puppy was near her. I was not going to be able to keep the puppy. However, Bridget Taber at Pawsome pup dog trainer saved the day she managed to get me into her schedule immediately. In a matter of two sessions with my older dog we were able to get her to settle down without any problems. I am so appreciative to have learned the correct way to use the leave it command. I am so glad I was able to accomplish this so quickly. The puppy and the older dog are getting along great. She actually brings a toy to play with him. Thanks again I couldn’t have had a better turn out. I am so happy !!
Dear Ms. Bridget, I’ve had the best time visiting your farm. The first day I was a little scared as the wind was really blowing those barn doors. I hadn’t experienced anything like that. You made me feel so comfortable and each time I visited, you had more fun and games planned. I learned a lot and you made it seem so easy. Now, if only my family can do as good as me. I’m going to work real hard in the next couple of months and then I’m coming back to play some more with you. I hope you’ll be very proud of me. See you soon! Love, Finnley PS – Don’t let anyone else take my place on the golf cart! xoxo!
So glad I chose Bridget Taber at Pawsome Pups Dog Training. She was able to get my older dog to be non reactive to the new puppy we adopted. In just two classes I was able to walk them together. I really am so happy at how quickly the two dogs are getting along with each other! Thanks
We brought our 5 year old pit mix, Winston to Bridget for dog aggression and overall obedience. Winston had developed aggression towards other dogs and couldn’t be walked near other dogs without lunging, barking, crying, etc. we signed up for 10 sessions with Bridget and are amazed with the results! Winston has become a happier and obedient dog thanks to Bridget and we could not be happier! In turn, we are happier and more relaxed. So happy that we chose Bridget and positive reinforcement training—it works!
We highly recommend Bridget and Pawsome Pups Dog Training. Our eight month old miniature schnauzer had minimal socialization due to COVID. She became reactive and fearful of anything new, especially people which resulted in excessive barking episodes. Bridget assessed Rose and we did a 10 session private training package and the results were better than we could have ever imagined. Rose can sit, lay down, settle, walk cooperatively, and leave it which has been key to us conditioning her not to be afraid of everything. Most importantly, we have a handle on the excessive barking which had impacted our ability to enjoy Rose with others outside of the home. Bridget really took the time to ensure that we understood the training methods so we can continue our training efforts at home with Rose and her brother. In just a small period of time, we can now walk Rose, take her to parks, and have her engage with family, friends and strangers without fear of barking episodes because we are now adequately trained to help Rose through her anxieties. Bridget’s positive reinforcement training methods work and we are so thankful we found her.
Positive: Professionalism, Quality, Reliability, Responsiveness, Value Pawsome Pups Training is the way to go if you are looking for a positive trainer, no special collars, only yummy treats. After my initial consult with Bridgette I signed up for the 5 session package for my 3 year old miniature schnauzer. Wow! What a difference between the consult and completion of my sessions. My schnauzer tugged and barked at every dog and person we would see on our walks. Bridgette’s positive training of Charlie, and training me how to communicate with her, we can now enjoy our walks with no pulling, no barking and she responds to “leave it” if she decides to look at another dog or bird. In addition to this initial problem, she now follows commands for sit, down, settle, leave it and stay. As Bridgette discovered, Charlie is VERY stubborn but she complied with all requests by the end of training. I Thank you Bridgette and Thomas.
Positive: Professionalism, Quality, Reliability, Responsiveness, Value Pawsome Pups Dog Training Pup/Dog training can be intimidating – especially if the puppy subject is energetic!! Bridget Taber solves all issues with a commendable degree of discipline, patience and positive reinforcement. Our experience exceeded our expectations and has resulted in a calm, focused if still feisty puppy – the difference in his demeanor and responsiveness is most remarkable! Now we need to sustain all that Bridget taught us and continue his development… Maria & Larry A.
Positive: Professionalism Bridget was amazing in helping me start training my 10 week old pit/hound mix. Phoebe is smart but a little stubborn and Bridget was great at working with her and showing me how and what to do. She’s learned sit, down, settle, leave it and working on her walking on leash in a good manner. I highly recommend Bridget and Pawsome Pups Training for your pup!
We just finished a private behavior consultation with Bridget a day ago, and I already see wonderful progress with BeBe, our nearly 2-year-old Labraheeler (part Black Lab, part Blue Heeler). BeBe has a fair amount of fear and anxiety, but it was so remarkable to see how quickly she warmed up to Bridget and started really trusting her – in just one session! Bridget is so patient, using positive reinforcement in a highly effective way. She is also very knowledgeable and is educating me and my family about changing our habits to help BeBe’s progress. We look forward to continuing training with Bridget!
Bridget, Thank you so much for working with BeBe yesterday. I was very happy, and impressed, to see how much progress you made with her and how she warmed up to you in such a short time. She really does love people, but, as you noticed, she does have a lot of fear and anxiety. You are incredibly patient, and you have a gift with dogs, no question. Thank you so much. Sincerely, Kristy Loftus
Bridget is great with dogs. Sadie had some issues but the training we both had at Bridget’s did wonders for her and it taught me much about how to work with my dog. Bridget only uses positive training methods. I highly recommend Pawsome Pups!
We are absolutely thrilled with the results of using Pawsome Pups and Bridget Taber to train our 4 year old Corgi. She had been trained as a puppy, but developed bad habits that were escalating. She identified why some of these behaviors had occurred, and gave us the tools to help. These behaviors included aggressive herding, biting and nipping. The home environment was in constant disruption and frenzy throughout the day and night. She ran the household and wore the crown. We selected Bridget as she is one of the few board certified instructors, with a proven record over the years, who uses positive reinforcement. Bridget Taber is a consummate professional and the positive results from 5 daily lessons and a consult were immediate. We were very surprised and thrilled that she was helping our dog comply with our directions, and is well on her way to becoming a better, happier member of our family. We are learning what we need/have to do as her parents. We strongly recommend Bridget and Pawsome Pups to anyone for professional dog training!
Hattie finished her puppy training with Bridget today. I can’t believe how much progress “we” made in a short week. Hattie responded to the positive instruction;Bridget was patient with both of us. Honestly, I learned so much and am working to unlearn bad habits. I recommend Pawsome Pup Training to anyone!!
We just enrolled our 4 year old Corgi, Mindy, in a private class with Bridget and the Pawsome Pups training. Mindy is a great dog but needs training in certain areas, and my wife and I were just not succeeding. Bridget identified Mindy’s issues and explained how her training program with positive reinforcement would seek to resolve them, and how we would use those methods in the future. Her first session and suggestions yielded immediate improvement — we were absolutely pleased. Mindy and we are continuing in a tailored training with Bridget. Pawsome Pups is exactly what we needed for our little family member Mindy! Great job Bridget!!!
Don’t skip the puppy training! Look no further than Bridget. Our Linus is 85# at 2 now and I can’t imagine having skipped working with Bridget, he is quite a gentleman. Everyone he meets in life comments about his awesome demeanor and behavior. It IS because of the 8-9 months that we worked with Bridget.
Positive: Professionalism, Quality, Reliability, Responsiveness, Value My name is Bruce Mahler. I am a refugee from Hollywood, California. You may have seen me as the rabbi on “Seinfeld” (1995); the accident-prone Sgt. Fackler in the six Warner Brothers “Police Academy” movies (1983 – 1988), ABC-TV’s late night comedy series “Fridays” (1980 – 1982) and a lot more but I digress… After retiring from the insanity of the entertainment business, I moved to northern Virginia five years ago seeking a bit of peace and tranquility, but that was turned upside down when I adopted a young German Shepherd rescue. (No good deed goes unpunished…) The first few weeks were a delight as Luka began to bond with me, romping playfully in our garden and adjusting to her new home, our five cows and bucolic surroundings. A shy, delightful, sweet, seemingly even-tempered dog until… …a dog on a leash lunged at Luka while I was walking her. Disaster and chaos ensued. Over the next weeks, my dog became increasingly hyper-active and extremely stressed. New behaviors which I had never seen came bubbling up. She barked loudly at strangers, lunged violently on the leash, tried to chase any and every car or truck that passed us during walks. This behavior carried over into my car, as she jumped at the windows of my car at any vehicle that passed us. Deafening barks were directed at any and every Fed Ex, UPS or post office truck that pulled up in front of our house. Home repair people entering our house triggered a nightmare. After 10 months of this, I was unable to work at my home office, quite depressed and ready to “re-home” my dog. I discussed this with my wife, who had begged me to get professional training at the outset of the problem – advice I am ashamed to say I ignored. (Please, dear reader, do NOT make the mistake of delaying training. You will only make your problem worse). Enter Bridget Taber. I can only say that Bridget Taber is a priceless resource for anyone who wants to save their sanity. Yes, there are other “trainers” out there. Personal and anecdotal experience has taught me that a large number of these are lightweights. Some will take your dog off your hands for a few weeks (and not tell you they use shock collars to whip the dogs into shape). Tell me you called Bridget Taber and I in return will tell you your search has ended. As well as your problem. Bridget is a force to be reckoned with. I speak from personal experience. To see Bridget approach a lunging, agitated and loudly barking dog is awe-inspiring. She is fearless, authoritative and exudes a competence and confidence that leaves you breathless. Within 15 minutes of our initial visit, Bridget had Luka sitting like a polite young girl at a high school dance, crouching down on her haunches as quiet and still as the Great Sphinx of Giza, Egypt as well as other behaviors. Here’s the thing: It is YOU who needs teaching. Dogs are easy. Owners are hard! Getting a problem dog to behave properly is easily within Bridget Taber’s gearworks & wheelhouse. The larger challenge is transferring that talent to YOU. Not something that happens in a day, mind you! Entrust yourself (and your dog) in Bridget Taber’s capable hands and count yourselves among the lucky few.
Bridget at pawsome pups is amazing! She is such a great trainer and has done wonders for our puppy. Positive reinforcement is such a great method for training. I absolutely recommend her for anyone interested in training their dog the right way.
Positive: Professionalism, Quality We took our new puppy Monday for puppy training and he learned so much! Bridget was very good with him and we learned how to communicate with him as well. We look forward to more training! Thanks Bridget!
Positive: Quality, Responsiveness, Value We had a wonderful first session with our greyhound puppy and learned a lot about how to start off on the right foot with his training. Bridget introduced us to topics such as crate training, products, and books that were extremely helpful. The most important concept we left with was learning about the timing of positive reinforcement. Thank you!
Positive: Value We have only done one training session so far and my puppy and I have already learned a lot! Highly recommend. Looking forward to another session.
Positive: Professionalism, Quality, Reliability, Responsiveness We were in a very tough situation: my sweet, 1.5 year old Vizsla started acting aggressively toward my other dogs. When she acted out against us, we needed help immediately so we called Bridget at Pawsome Pups Dog Training and she got us scheduled right away. We did a 10 session program and now have better understanding of our dogs, better house rules for everyone, and the tools to tackle the toughest incidents. Bridget will help strengthen your bond with your dog as she helped us!
Bridget is wonderful! She has helped me so much with training my 14 week old Wolfhound. She teaches positive reinforcement training. So many other trainers do not. This was my one big must to hire a trainer. I could not recommend her enough.
My daughter and I learned so much working with Bridget and our new puppy, Casey! She is knowledgable and patient and we have certainly started off on the right foot with our week of daily sessions. Highly recommend using Pawsome Pups and we will continue to go back as Casey matures!
Bridget was excellent with helping us with our fearful rescue dog. She gave us valuable information that has helped our boy tremendously. Bridget is extremely knowledgeable.
Bridget is wonderful. Had my 1st session with her yesterday! She taught me so much and helped me understand what I was doing wrong. My puppy is 13weeks old and just in 1 training session I already see a huge improvement. I highly recommend her. 100% positive reinforcement. I have had dogs before that I have taken to other trainers that were not positive reinforcement and ended up with dogs that were fearful.
Progress and clear guidance in our very 1st session! Bridget provides a wealth of knowledge and a game plan to get us back on track with our Vizsla, Rowan. I cannot wait to continue and make life better for our family members, both two and four legged!
Bridget is the best around. I had an initial session with my 13 week old puppy. She is extremely knowledgeable and just in 1 session my puppy is sitting, laying down and leaving items. I am so impressed. She teaches the owner and honestly I am the o e that needs to be taught. I can’t wait for the other sessions we have scheduled with her. I highly recommend her. She uses Positive reinforcement methods which was a big requirement for any trainer I chose.
Bridget worked with our new puppy, Casey, and has us off to a wonderful start on his training! He already responds to sit, down and “leave it” and walks quite well on the leash – her peanut butter stick is amazing and I highly recommend it! Her pointers will help our whole family wit giving him healthy socialization and positive corrections to his behavior. An investment well worth it!!
Bridget, is excellent with dogs. She has been very patient with me and I am an older lady . Macy is learning so much. I took her for a walk today and she was so good . Thank you Bridget !!
Bridget has done an excellent job with our puppy! Highly recommend Bridget!!
I attended my first class and it was very fun Bridget makes it very easy to learn and she really understands the dogs I enjoyed doing these classes and Im looking forward to more I would highly recommend Bridget if you are looking for a dog trainer and I’ve noticed a complete difference with my dog since she’s been going
Bridget has helped us tremendously with our golden retriever’s manners & ability to relate to other dogs. We’ve been very happy with how far she (and we!) have come.
We brought our new Golden Retriever puppy to Bridget to get him started on the right path to manners and obedience. We did a private lesson and Bridget did a fabulous job demonstrating techniques and communicating with our puppy. Bridget has an obvious talent for understanding a dog’s perspective. We were amazed at how quickly she got results. We are continuing with a puppy class starting next week.
Bridget is wonderful!! We have a new rescue who spent four years on the end of a chain. He has never had any sort of training and didn’t even have a name until a couple of weeks ago. By the end of one private session, he knew “leave it” and walks on a leash without pulling. She worked on sit for a while but we discovered he isn’t physically able. She is so patient and SO knowledgeable! We will definitely be dropping into classes in the future.
Bridget took the time with my anxious puppy and by then end of the session, she was very relaxed! Looking forward to continuing her training! Highly recommend Bridget!!!
Bridget is amazing…. she really gets to the core of the issue
Bridget is the trainer you want to have in your corner when you get a new puppy. She gets you off on the right foot and knows how to train both your puppy and you so that you can enjoy your puppy to the max. We brought our 8 week old great dane puppy and she quickly learned to “leave it” when she goes to chew on something she shouldn’t – which has been a life saver. Thank you Bridget!! You are the best.
My wife and I rescued a GSD from a shelter and decided we needed professional help with her as we felt she may have been abused. After the initial consultation/training we decided to purchase 10 more private sessions and couldn’t be happier. Our new fur baby is a totally different dog and although she still needs some work we feel that with the fantastic training and tools that were provided to us we are in a much better place than where we were before attending. Our not so friendly girl is no longer pulling on a leash, ferociously lunging at cars and will now approach people without being totally afraid and aggressive! The positive training without prong and shock collars is amazing. This girl is a girl that we can now walk down the street without worrying about her reaction. Through hard work, consistency and positive training we are sure our fur baby will continue getting better and more trusting! We would be pleased to recommend pawsome pups dog training to anyone especially those that are thinking about the use of shock or prong collars. We are pretty sure one of the two were used on our girl as she wouldn’t even allow us to put a harness on her without her getting upset at us coming to her neck and now it’s done with no issues!! Thank you Pawsome Pups Dog Training!
Bridget is awesome! If you want your dog trained in a safe, loving manner this is the place to go! I cannot believe how quickly she able to get a dog to sit, lay down and a bunch of other things we all want our dogs to do!~
Pawsome pups is simply amazing! We had one private session yesterday and more to follow but just using the techniques I learned from the trainer has already made a huge difference. Leia and I just came in from a 30 min walk with no pulling and she let a car and squirrel go by without lunging and pulling my arm off! Most importantly no Ferocious bark! She is a work in progress but is quickly learning! I am definitely looking forward to more training for this sweet pup!
Our vet recommended Bridget-Pawsome Pups dog Training and couldn’t be happier! We did 10 private lessons with our Blue Heeler who has fear issues. We have a completely different dog now. Bridget took the time to gain Blues trust and the outcome is incredible! We purchased a new harness, books and of course the peanut butter stick (designed by Bridget) that we will use every day. We are excited to bring Blue back for more training and summer swim time in her pool. We highly recommend Positive Trainers and you will get that with Bridget. We are so thankful we found her!
We brought our 6 month old Blue Heeler “Blue” to Bridget and we couldn’t believe the progress she made with her in the first session. Blue has fear issues we’re trying to overcome and Bridget was able to get close to her and work with her in the first hour! We previously took Blue to a Puppy Kindergarten class and the other trainer was not able to get close to Blue in the 5 weeks. We trust Bridget and love that it’s a happy and safe place for Blue. We strongly encourage everyone to work with a Positive Trainer and you will find that with Bridget. We are excited to take this adventure with Bridget and cannot say enough great things!
Hi Bridget, Update; I would like to thank you for all of your help with Sunny and making us better pet owners. I can honestly say we might not still have her if it weren’t for your help with my family and we are all truly grateful for your help! We may look to bringing her back down the road for further training so we will likely be in touch! Thank you, Jamie Chapman
Bridget has been an amazing help for me learning how to interact with dogs. My girlfriend has had dogs before but I haven’t and Bridget’s classes this year have really made me more comfortable. She not only helps your puppy learn good manners and habits, but also gave us insight at every step; telling us what exactly we were doing and how it worked all as a part of positive reenforcement training. (No shock/choke/prong collars) Bridget did more than train our dog, she also trained us every step of the way. We brought our puppy home at 9 weeks and immediately started with the level 1 puppy kindergarten class, where we learned the basics like sit, down, and getting him used to walking next to us in a harness. Bridget is very clear in her direction and will correct you when you are making a mistake that will lead to bad habits…which we both greatly appreciate. With the success we felt in the first puppy class we went on to take every class Bridget had to offer us, including the very fun out on the town class where we walked Harper’s Ferry and built up both our and our puppy’s confidence of walking on leash, from trails with deer and squirrels to crowded town streets with other dogs and traffic. Thanks to Bridget’s instruction, our puppy is now AKC Canine Good Citizen Certified! He is very well behaved out on our walks in Frederick and Harper’s Ferry and I feel much more confident taking him anywhere we go.
I can not thank Bridget enough! My dog Duke is 1 year and 4 months. He is a Coonhoud and Plotthound mix. He barked and would go crazy when he saw other dogs on leashes. Bridget gave me the tools and techniques to get Duke under control. Duke is still a work in progress but he is getting better. The commands she gave me to make him behave in the home and out are fantastic and working. Bridget is extremely knowledgeable about how a dog’s brain works and what they need to be able to communicate with their owner. I tried a harness, choke collar and a gentle leader and nothing worked with Duke. The behavior was only getting worse with those types of collars. Bridget showed me the Euro collar and a halter collar that has made a HUGE difference in Duke. NO MORE PULLING! We are still working on when Duke sees another dog on a leash but he is getting better. All of this after 1 private training session. It is beyond worth the money for Bridget’s services. She is professional, prompt, friendly, and most importantly she understands Duke.
Positive: Punctuality, Quality, Responsiveness, Value We brought our new puppy to Bridget’s Puppy Kindergarten class and when we were pretty much near the end of our rope. She spent the first 8/10 weeks of her life in a pen in a barn and probably didn’t get too much interaction. As a result, she was destructive and very disobedient. We’ve had 4 puppies before and managed them well but this time, our hands were full. After only 1 class we noticed an instant change in repressiveness to basic commands. Bridget then came to our house for an in home consultation to help with our puppy’s interactions with our two 5 year olds and saw immediate results. As a result, we will be going back for a second round of classes to help keep the positive training going. I would highly recommend Bridget’s training classes to anyone who may have their first puppy and people who have had several. Either way, she will show you techniques to make it much easier!
I have so appreciated Bridget’s help on so many things, even before we started the classes. The classes have been so informative, and always positive for the dogs. That is important to me. My pup is a Golden aged 16 weeks and is doing so well with his training. Highly recommended.
We’ve been working with Bridget since Flin was 9 weeks old. It’s been a great experience. Her puppy class is a unique opportunity to socialize your dog in a style that was not offered anywhere else we looked. All of her classes are small, personalized and very interactive.
Bridget is a godsend to me, a senior citizen with a very high energy puppy. My Aussie puppy, Gracie, and I are a work in progress but, with Bridget’s guidance, we are making great progress. I know I will have a well trained dog and would recommend Bridget and her positive training methods to any dog owner
I’ve taken my daughter’s wildly energetic rescue pup (Helen) to several training sessions at Pawsome Pups. We started with a private session in our home when she was 10 weeks old and at the end of the session she had learned sit, down, and leave it with voice command and with hand signals alone! We then attended sessions at the training center where she could interact with other puppies as well as continue her training. She loved these sessions! She also loves Bridget. The early socialization with other puppies reinforced her love of all other dogs and taught her how to play appropriately. The positive rewards method worked perfectly for this super high energy and joyful pup and I will never use any other training approach. Helen is now 14 months old and has just passed her Canine Good Citizen test and achieved her novice trick certification through her training with Pawsome Pups. I can’t recommend it highly enough.
Dear Bridget, Thank you so much for the amazing training and the caring call. The “snarling/aggression” problem we were having has been successfully and quickly remedied by following your directions. That is a relief. We are really enjoying Toulouse without those aggressive growls/bites. I feel like we regained control over the situation/established boundaries, and it has been much less stressful and more fun for all. We are also practicing the other commands with her. Thank you again for everything. The peanut butter stick is a total hit as is the new harness/leash set. I use the hip bag on every walk as it has plenty of room for everything Toulouse and I both need. Warmly, Jean Ann.
In three days, just three days I have a “new” dog. He’s happy again after shutting down somewhat from adverse training. I was told he had low mental stamina. Right. He’s so smart and loving life again all thanks to Brigette Kline Taber. A million thanks!!!! ***UPDATE*** Hi Bridget!! We “worked” today. Going so well. Fun for both of us. No shock collar or choker. Thank you for making such a difference and recognizing that he is a genius:)
***UPDATE*** Bridget is the best!!! I just emailed her a question about something my dog did (two years after we did training with her) and she had wonderful advice!!!
Bridget is exceptional! She has worked with our dog Maggie during a few private sessions to curve her reactive behavior towards other dogs. When we first adopted Maggie, she would go crazy when passing other dogs on walks (jumping, noises, the whole nine yards). During our last session, we went on a walk around the neighborhood with Maggie (in the rain—Bridget is a trooper!) and both Maggie and my family and I learned more than we even thought possible. After just a few sessions with Bridget and the correct harness (also from Bridget!), I’m so thankful and happy to say that Maggie has improved SIGNIFICANTLY with her reactivity. Just today we took her on a walk and she showed off her new skill of understanding “wait,” which we have her do when we see/pass another dog. She did a great job and will only continue to improve from public sessions to give her even more exposure to other dogs! Thank you so much!!! Follow up; Hello! Thank you so much for checking in!! She’s doing incredibly better on her walks. We practice “wait” multiple times per walk and she has been so much more controlled when other dogs pass her (and when we get her to the other side of the sidewalk)! We are so impressed and can’t thank you enough.
As a professional groomer and fellow dog lover I highly recommend Bridget’s services to my clients and to you reading this. I have groomed many of her client dogs, as well as her personal dogs, and they are all well adjusted and have excellent manners. I know that they will be loved and treated with respect at Pawsome Pups while learning their puppy behaviors, manners, and maybe some tricks too!.
We took puppy kindergarten classes with our 4 month old puppy and he loved every minute. Bridget is knowledgeable and kind, our puppy would get so excited to see her each time. He made such progress and we really liked that there was play time off the leash so he could run around and interact freely. The classes also did a wonderful job of teaching the pups about sharing food and some doggy manners. It has been magical- we appreciate all that we learned- highly recommend.
I brought my shelter dog to Bridget for elementary manners and intermediate manners classes and am so glad I did. My dog is 2 years old – but knew no commands when we brought her home. Now she knows several and has learned to trust. Bridget’s style is extremely patient but firm, and she is all about kindness towards dogs – a true one of a kind in her field.
Bridget is so knowledgeable and helpful in every way possible. We have learned so many valuable things in our classes with her. She doesn’t just train your dog, but she makes sure that you as the owner learns the skills as well. I couldn’t be more happy with her services.
Excellent with helping your dog
Bridget, You are an excellent trainer. Sam and I loved attending puppy class. Thank you and best wishes, Robin
We recently abopted a four year old terrior mix that had a rough start in life. She came to us with zero training so we called Bridget for a private lesson to not only begin training Maggie but teach us as well. Through positive reinforcement Maggie learned the down and settle commands quickly. Bridget took her time with my 9 year daughter who wanted to be fully involved in the training as well. She also took time to set up the crate correctly with me and walked through the process to tackle potty training. I was worried the crate would upset Maggie but she settles down and does fine all night. We are excited to sign up for the elementary manners class to continue growing and developing skills with Maggie.
Pawsome Pups Training is amazing! My husband and I live on the same property as my mother, who decided to take in a dog named Annie with a rough history which had caused behavioral issues. Bridget skillfully introduced her to both me and my mom, and within one day she was totally comfortable and kind to both of us. However, she HATED all men, including my husband whom she viciously barked and lunged at during their first meeting. As a whole, she was far more wild than any dog we’d ever had before. We had an hour long private training session with Bridget, and by the end of the hour, Annie was able to follow multiple commands and walk calmly on a leash with each of us (Mom, me, and my husband) individually! It was a huge change. Bridget also guided us on how to handle men entering the house with Annie present, and her instructions have led to multiple successful introductions and interactions. When Annie first came into our home, I honestly thought we’d have to put her in a shelter due to her dangerous behavior. It’s now looking like she is here to stay!
I attended a private lesson with my 7mo old rough collie puppy. I was worried about enrolling her in a class, since she gets very excited around other dogs and people and is very easily distracted, but I’d run into a wall with training her at home and knew I needed help. Even after just one session, my silly pup showed marked improvement and I learned so much too. It really allayed my worries about enrolling her in a class and help us over our own training hump. I signed up for Bridget’s next class the same day. We’re well on our way and looking forward attending training!
If anyone is looking for a dog trainer this is the place to go. I’ve brought my stubborn Dachshunds and my Doberman here. All of them have grown exponentially with obedience and behavior. All of the training is Positive – Reinforcement. Definitely something that was important for us when looking for trainers. 11 out of 10 for Pawsome Pups Dog Training!
Dear Bridget, Just over a year ago, you came out to Winchester to do a private lesson with our newly adopted Yorki-Poo, Murphy. We continue to work with him as you taught us, and he responds excellently. As a result, he is simply an amazing little dog who provides us endless happiness. Forever grateful, Anne
We lost our beloved chocolate lab of 13 yrs in August. On November 10 we got a new puppy, an English Labrador and she is beautiful but needed IMMEDIATE training! A chance meeting at Petsmart with a lady who owned a kennel got me the name of Bridget Taber of Pawsome pups…. she came out today for a private session to get us some quick help and she was fantastic! I was amazed how much she got Susie to learn in 90 minutes. We’ll be enrolled in the puppy kindergarten as soon as Susie gets cleared by our Vet for that! I HIGHLY recommend Bridget to anyone with a high spirited dog. She was fantastic today! continue taking classes from Pawsome Pups!
A dog trainer in my neighborhood saw that we had a puppy and suggested taking him to Pawsome Pups for Puppy Kindergarten. I contacted Bridget via email and she was extremely responsive. Our puppy had so much fun socializing with other pups. Bridget was great about explaining the dog’s different behaviors so that we could learn to recognize it for ourselves. Our puppy LOVED going to class so much we did the program twice! We feel it’s important to put in the work now, so we can have a loving, healthy, and fun life long relationship. It’s so cool to watch and learn from Bridget. It turns out that it’s us humans that need most of the training. You can tell that she loves animals and wants to see them be their best possible selves. We will DEFINITELY continue taking classes from Pawsome Pups!
Our 12 week old catahoula/terrier mix has been with us 2 weeks and it became very clear almost immediately that she is going to be a handful! I called Bridget and made an appointment for private training and she came to our house 2 days later. The results were amazing. After just 2 hours the puppy had learned sit, down, settle, touch, and leave it, using positive training. We used what Bridget taught us to continue the training every day with great success. We are now attending puppy classes with other puppies and the improvement in behavior is remarkable. This puppy is going to be a very good girl thanks to Bridget’s positive training.
we recently contacted Bridget Taber for one-on-one in home training for our corgi puppy who was showing food/toy aggression towards our senior dachshund. after the first session she had our pups full attention and doing basic commands. with further training our Ellie is doing much better with her possessiveness of food and Bridget has taught us how to handle these situations. she is extremely knowledgeable and professional. I definitely would recommend Pawsome Pups Training!
Hey my name is Payton. I have a Bernese Mountain Dog, and I have trained with pawsome pups for about a year! I love that it is all positive training! My dog used to be scared and terrified of people, but after training with Bridget she has come out of her shell and loves people, and isn’t scared anymore! I thank Bridget for her great training and for what my dog has become!!! I totally recommend Pawsome pups for anybody who wants a well trained dog!!! *side note Aww thank you Payton! What Peyton did not tell you is that she is 14 years old and did an amazing job training her dog from day one without any help from her parents!!! For such a young lady she did an amazing job!!! Bridget is a confident and knowledgable trainer and she has been exceptional with our timid puppy. She cares about the safety and health of the dogs she trains and even offered to go to a vet appointment with us when we were worried about our dog’s behavior. Her training facility is the perfect location for anyone out in Western Loudoun, Clarke co, or even Jefferson county! She keeps special harnesses in stock in all sizes and makes the graduation of each class special with a certificate, treat, and toy for your dog to choose. We have loved working with her and we recommend her for your training needs!
I contacted Bridget Taber on a Monday, by Wednesday she came to my home and began training Tippy. She is very knowledgeable with not only training, but provided some great insight around dog behavior. The initial meeting Tippy was hesitant and somewhat edgy, by lesson two, she was a little more open, by session three, greeted Bridget with lots of sniffs! The lessons themselves were a full hour, very active and provided Tippy with a solid foundation to move to a group lesson. I have the utmost confidence in Bridget Taber and recommend her to anyone who has a new puppy or one that needs some guidance.
Bridget is so easy to work with and came highly recommended from a lot of local veterinarians and pet stores. Her training methods are positive reinforcement based, which is what we were looking for. We did not want our pup’s spirit broken with harsh methods.
Bridgette knows what she is doing. I highly recommend starting her programs. I am attending the first pup class for my super high energy Vizsla pup. I was worried that he didn’t play well with others and might end up with issues. Bridgette’s classes with puppy play time and socialization (and chats) have helped tremendously. I have trained a Vizsla before but i am glad I went to her because you always need backup and reminders…and support!
We had Bridget work with our German Shepherd and she did a wonderful job. She is patient and showed so much concern for our. dog. It wasn’t just the commands but also worked on his temperament and disposition. She taught him so much but I learned so much too. I definitely want to continue with her classes.
Bridget is very capable and knowledgeable. It’s a great place for training and a great place for puppy socialization.
I had 2 private sessions with Bridget. Neither of my pups had been properly socialized as puppies. Both were very leary of a new person coming into our home. Bridget was very patient and loving with both Allie and Mia. Her positive reinforcement training is just what we needed! I will continue working with both using what I learned in our session!
Bridget is the trainer we’ve been looking for! Our rescue mix is full of energy and wants nothing more than to chase every bird, squirrel, or bunny. We are active and wanted to be able to bring our dog on walks and hikes, but the leash pulling was too much. He would pull so much, we’d lose our balance or pull our shoulder muscles. We were afraid to take him out with us – which was the opposite of why we wanted a dog!We were also starting to think we’d never get him to ignore the cats long enough for them to be comfortable. Though we’d tried a training class before with Indy, it wasn’t enough. Even though it was pricy, we signed up for a private session in our home and hoped for the best. Our expectations were met and exceeded! Within a few minutes, Bridget taught Indy two new commands (leave it and settle). On our walk, we couldn’t believe our eyes when Indy, with Bridget’s guidance, started ignoring birds and squirrels just a few feet away and walking like a perfect gentleman!!! The key thing was how much Bridget taught us – not just Indy. Before the end of our session, Bridget coached us on the same methods she used so that we could confidently practice this new routine and suggested ways to apply this approach to other situations, including getting Indy comfortable with our two scaredy-cats. In my opinion, it was absolutely worth the cost!!! We’ve been practicing for a few days and all of us are feeling more confident on walks and Indy is looking more to us than squirrels! Without Bridget’s guidance and careful instruction about body language, tone of voice, reaction, and description of what to watch out for with Indy, we may never have gotten to this point!!! We will definitely be signing up for a class with Bridget soon to round out our training and keep improving!
We had a wonderful experience with Bridget. Our 3-year old GSD responded beautifully to her positive training and I am looking forward to more classes. I can’t say enough good things about her methods!
